CDANZ New Membership Applicants FAQS.
1. My qualification is not on the NZQA Framework. What do I do?
If you have an overseas qualification, Immigration New Zealand may have already assessed this against the NZQA framework. Immigration NZ has a list of common international qualifications that have been assessed and identify the NZQA Level they are equivalent with. Check the list to see if your qualification has been assessed and has a NZQA assigned level. If it does, please submit a screen shot of this with your application (including a verified copy of your qualification and your academic transcript).

*Please note this qualification list is not a list of CDANZ Approved qualifications. It is just a list of qualifications Immigration NZ have had assessed against the NZQA Framework.
If your qualification is not on the above list, you can apply to NZQA to have your qualification assessed to determine if it a NZQA Level 6 or above equivalent. The cost is $445.00 per qualification. You must submit the Qualification profile in English and your academic transcript. Please see the link below for further information.

Once NZQA has assessed your qualification, they will issue you with a recognition statement, verifying the qualification on the NZQA framework. Please submit the NZQA recognition statement with your application (including a verified copy of your qualification and your academic transcript).
2. Under Alternative Pathways, is my qualification recognised as a relevant qualification?
A. Your qualification needs to be in a people related field, with 120 credits at level 6 or above.
B. Your academic transcript needs to be made up of papers relevant to the CDANZ competency framework.
C. Each qualification and supporting academic transcript is reviewed together to determine if your qualification is approved by CDANZ, as relevant.
D. Unless you hold a career specific qualification at level 6 or above, your qualification and supporting academic transcript will need to be reviewed as part of the application process to determine if it is accepted.
3. What qualification documents do I need to submit as part of my application?
1. A verified copy of your qualification.
2. Your academic transcript.
3. Verification that your qualification is at NZQA Level 6 or above, if your qualification is not on the NZQA Framework.
