How employers gain from helping young people get career ready

REPORT LAUNCH OECD EDUCATION AND SKILLS WEBINAR SERIES

About this webinar

Many young people are learning for jobs that are disappearing while employers have difficulties finding the people with the skills they need. Join the OECD’s Director for Education and Skills, Andreas Schleicher, for the launch of a new international study showing how employers have much to gain by working more closely with schools as they prepare students for the world of work.New analysis shows that many students are struggling to understand the labour market and effective routes into it, with 40% planning to work in jobs at high risk of total or partial automation over the next 10-15 years. How can employers build better labour market signals to address this mismatch and enable genuinely inclusive and diverse recruitment? Andreas Schleicher will present this new report live from Addey and Stanhope School in South East London, where a group of employers will gather to talk to the students on career readiness.

The webinar, organised in collaboration with Education and Employers, will showcase a first-of-its kind analysis of longitudinal data from ten countries on how students engage with employers through career guidance and how this could impact later employment outcomes.
