Choosing or changing your career pathway is an important process. It can be exciting and challenging, but it can also be quite a lot of work. Clients need to think about themselves in ways that will allow them to get a clear understanding of their career potential. The writing process takes the client through their inner personal life and out to the broader influences of their career. The outcome will be a unique and personal story about the client. My Career Chapter is a procedure that enables clients to write a short career autobiography and then talk out the story in counseling.This webinar is in the Be Updated track, updating you on international and emerging career practices.

Professor Peter McIlveen, PhD, has expertise in career development, vocational psychology, and counselling psychology. Peter serves on the editorial boards of several international journals, the Journal of Vocational Behavior, Journal of Career Assessment, The Career Development Quarterly, International Journal for Educational and Vocational Guidance, and the Australian Journal of Career Development. He is a registered psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society, the College of Counselling Psychologists, and a Fellow of the Career Development Association of Australia. Dr. McIlveen’s teaching is focused on postgraduate coursework within the Master of Education and supervision of PhD candidates at the University of Southern Queensland.
